Samsung Galaxy Star entry-level Jelly Bean Smartphone to Release at MWC 2013?

Everyday new rumor about the launch of Samsung Galaxy S4 comes up but, and the smartphone giant is still quite over these rumors. Now at least this is sure that S4 will take some time to come (not getting launched in the upcoming MWC), but Samsung is rather ready with some other fresh pieces for the Mobile World Congress and one those devices is Galaxy Star. This phone is definitely a low budget phone approximately in the range of Rs.10,000.


The actual name of the device is Samsung Galaxy Star GT-S5282 sports 7.6-cm (3-inch) display with a resolution of 160×120 pixels. If we talk about the operating system then it runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system for sure as Samsung has already launched many devices running on Android Jelly Bean. Further in the baggage we get 1 GHz or 800 MHz processor (still not confirmed) coupled with 512 MB RAM.

Further the Galaxy Star comes up with a 2MP of rear camera, but no front camera is being provided  here and will feature 4 GB on-board storage, with the provision of memory card slot also there. Apart from this, in the connectivity front Galaxy Star will be compatible with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and come loaded 1,200 mAh battery which will at least provide 8 hours of talk time and 200 hours of stand by time.

Availability and Price

Samsung Galaxy Star GT-S5282 is going to showcase in the upcoming MWC surely, and it is also expected that many other Samsung devices will make their entry in the mobile world. Although the price of this new flagship smartphone is not clear that but from the specs it can estimated that it will be low budget and will fix somewhere at Rs.10,000. As we are aware, Samsung already active in low-end area, with the likes of Samsung Galaxy Y Series phones, as well as Samsung Champ, and Star 3 phones. Recently they released REX series phones to compete with Nokia Asha Series Devices. We’ve also heard that Samsung Galaxy Fame to be available in two versions.
