  • Download and Install Latest LG Drivers from this link. Also arrange data cable, which is required for PC and Tablet connectivity.

How to Root LG Optimus 4X HD P880 Android Phone

Step 1: After installing the LG USB Drivers (See the requirements above), then you need to download Root Kit Download Link. After downloading place extract the download package to the path ‘C:\04×4’

Step 2: Next, you must download IS11LG_SystemBackupTest.signed.apk into your device. Download Link.

Step 3:  Tick the option Unknown sources by going to the option Settings>Security and also make sure USB Debugging is set to On.

Step 4: Now, you need to install IS11LG_SystemBackupTest.signed.apk which you downloaded in Step 2.

Step 5: Now, just run the app ‘SystemBackupTest’, and then restart the phone by holding power button and then selecting Power off and restart option.

Step 6: While phone gets restart, you might notice that phone is running some slow, and this is the time when you should connect phone to the computer. Make sure that at this stage, phone should be in Charging Only mode.

Step 7: Now, run the Command Prompt with Administrator privileges. When command prompt runs, on the interface, type command cd C:\04xr and then Press Enter. After that type command root and then again press enter. Please note that, you should wait now to get the phone rebooted automatically, as soon as script runs. Now, you will again see command prompt C:\04xr> .

Step 8: Now, you should uninstall the SystemBackupTest app from your phone, and you should be aware that after running the script you should not open the app again, instead simply remove it, otherwise you have to run the script again from command prompt.

Step 9: Now, after remove the app, you should open Google Play Store and then search SuperSU, download and run the same, and update the SU Binary by pressing OK, and now you got root and you can restore the Unknown Sources and USB Debugging settings safely.

How to Install ClockworkMod Touch Recovery on LG Optimus 4X HD P880

Step 1:  Download the recovery package from this link, and then extract the apk from the download zipped package.

Step 2: You will get file LG-Optimus-4XHD-Recovery.apk from the above package and simply install the app on your phone. After installation simply reboot the phone, which is mandatory otherwise installation might not get successful.

Step 3: Now, run the LG 4X Recovery App and press Install recovery and grant it the SU (superuser) access when interface asked you or prompted.

Step 4: You should wait now for OK message which indicate that SU is properly install, otherwise SU access denied, and you should check and grant permissions for the app.

Step 5: After installation was successfuly, you can press boot recovery and then you will boot into the clockworkmod recovery where you can make backup of existing ROM and can also install custom ROMs in your phone. We suggest you should make backup to external SD card always, as it is better.

    i did all the above & every thing is ok … bu
    AFTER Rooting i made a recovery boot >> the phone shut down &
    didnt start … just Lg logo & the tone of starting device >>
