Pre-Requisite

  • Download and Install Latest Micromax Drivers from here (Download Link). Make sure that you have kept Micromax A116 Canvas HD compatible data cable, as it is required for connectivity between phone and PC.
  • Make sure to charge Canvas HD’s battery minimum of 80% before you proceed with the Installation of CWM (ClockworkMod Recovery). Device should not turned of in between the procedure.

Steps to Install ClockworkModRecovery (CWM) on Micromax A116 Canvas HD

Step 1: Make sure that Micromax Drivers are installed. Then download the following files:

Step 2: Now, extract the ‘SP Flash Tools’ package, and then run the software.

Step 3: Once the interface is open, then just click on the button Scatter-Loading which is present on the right side, and just below the Download Agent. Here, you must browse and select MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt

Step 4: After the few moments, you will notice that the ‘SP Flash Tools’ interface has displayed various options on the screen, you must uncheck every entery here, and just check Recovery

Step 5: On the application window, after you clicked on the option Recovery and select the clockworkmod recovery.img which you have downloaded in Step 1.

Step 6: At the application interface, just navigate over to the Options and then click USB Mode to enable the same. Now navigate to the Options > DA Download All > Speed > Force to high speed.

Step 7: We recommend you remove microSD card, SIM Card and battery from the device.

Stpe 8: Right on the application interface in PC, just click Download button and then ignore all the warning messages, and when asked just click ‘Yes’.

Step 9: Now, it’s time to connect the phone to computer. Make sure that you’ve removed the battery. Now, connect the phone to computer while pressing Volume Up and then it will automatically start flashing the recovery.img.

Step 10: After flashing process has initiated, it will be displayed on the screen in the form of progress bar, which is located just below the SP Flash Tools interface.

Step 11: Perform this with care, and your device should not disconnected from the computer while performing this step. After the process gets completed, Green signal would appear on the screen, which indicates that process has been completed successfully.

Step 12: Now at this time, you can safely disconnect the phone from computer. Now, you can also insert back the battery, SIM card and microSD card.

Step 13: Before turning on the phone, make sure to press Volume Up+Down+Power Buttons all together to put the phone into recovery mode. Now, you can check the ClockworkMod Recovery listed there. You can navigate through the interface using Volume Up and Volume Key, and select any option using Power Button.

  1. Hello Sir… all things going well upto step 12. But when i start the phone in recovery mode i.e. by pressing Power +vol up + vol down then selecting volume up key…. it doent load recovery mode. it starts as normal mode. Please help
