CES is the abbreviated term for Consumer Electronics Show. This is a trade show that deals in gadgets and technology. This show takes place every year at the Las Vegas Convention Center in the month of January.

The CES 2012 was attended by as many as 153,000 people. Various gadgets were unveiled at CES 2012. Of all the gadgets it was the mobiles that stole the show. The main attraction of this year’s CES was the Windows Phone mobile application system from Microsoft. Here is a list of the top 5 phones announced at CES 2012.
The first of the top 5 phones announced at CES 2012, the Nokia Lumia 900 is the product of the partnership between Nokia and Microsoft. There are three Nokia Lumia phones, 710, 800 and 900. Of them the Nokia Lumia 900 is a mean and sleek gadget. The new Nokia Lumia 900 comes equipped with LTE or Long Term Evolution, a standard for mobile communication. It brings with it a refreshing touch amidst the various Android phones. People appreciated its sharp edged looks and it AMOLED display that measured 4.3 inches. It also features a 8 megapixel camera that comes fitted with a Carl Zeiss lens.
Samsung Galaxy Nexus
The second member in the list of top 5 phones announced at CES 2012 is definitely the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. While Nokia Lumia has a 4.3 inch AMOLED display, the Galaxy Nexus has a 4.65 inch AMOLED display. This is perhaps the first ever smart phone in the world that runs on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich mobile operating system. This smart phone will support Google Wallet, the mobile payment system from Google.
Samsung Galaxy Note
The third contender in the list of the top 5 phones announced at CES 2012 is the Samsung Galaxy Note. At a first glance you may be confused, what exactly is this thing? Is it an over sized smart phone or a miniature version of tablet computer? Actually it is a crossover between the two. The 5.3 inches screen makes it unable to carry in the pocket but then it is quite lightweight and can be handled quite easily. It is supported by the LTE network of AT&T.
Our next contender on the list of the top 5 phones announced at CES 2012 is the LG Spectrum. Its main USP is that it is a high definition phone. The LG Spectrum features a 720p by 1280 p resolution. Other than that the screen also features a technology known as “advanced high definition IPS” that makes the screen look brighter than other smart phones. Within a few months time the LG Spectrum would be using Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
The last contender in the list of top 5 phones announced at CES 2012 is Motorola Droid 4. Unlike other smart phones, the Motorola Droid 4 features a physical keyboard but is still considered to be the world’s slimmest smart phone using the 4G LTE technology. The QWERTY keypad is responds pretty well to its users.
