Broadband internet is one of the most widely used internet service around the world because of few majestic reasons like high speed, reliability, no disturbance for telephone calls, etc., but still there are certain things that most of the internet users are unaware off. In this post we are going to reveal 3 most important things that most of the Broadband Internet Users are not aware about the.
If the question is which internet service are you using 6/10 people answer Broadband and if your question is what is broadband 4/6 people answer it correctly. But still 5/6 people (Broadband Internet Users) will be unaware of the few facts that they need to know about broadband internet connection. So, let us check them out as we are going to focus on 3 important things that you might not know about broadband internet connection.
Everybody who uses broadband service might have installed it by themselves. Few broadband internet users might install it by applying practical knowledge while few might follow the blind ways. This post is truly for those who are not technically strong in their network especially broadband network. This is just a basic post, but it definitely worth to check your basics back.
Here are the 3 things that Broadband Internet Users must be aware off
1. Speed
Most of the people will fall in trap used by their ISPs. The users got to be careful with their knowledge regarding units like Mbps, Kbps etc. Most of the times your ISPs will try to trick you with these units.
Learn difference between MB and Mb. In which MB refers to MegaByte while Mb refers to Megabit. Imaging you want to download a file of size 6 MB and can you download that file in 1 sec?
So, now just get aware of the unit.
1 MB = 8 Mb which reflects the fact that 16 Mbps is equal to 2 MBps.
2. Usage
Initially like Dial Up, the broadband connection also annoyed broadband internet users with monthly usage cap, which force its users to pay for what they have used. But later, most of the ISPs started to offer unlimited usage by fixing the special price. But, because of this unlimited usability offer most of the users tend to use internet throughout the day by download or upload files. Since, our ISP shares a single line to some “x” multiple users, which might makes the connection slow at times if there is over usage of bandwidth.
This can be explained with a small example. If the ISP shares an 8 Mb speed broadband to around 30 people, then the average speed per user will be around 250 Kbps, as a result if you are downloading a 8 MB file, it may take you over 30 minutes to download that file instead of download it around 3 – 5 mins.
3. Price
It is yet another aspect that you need to be careful in the hands of your ISP. Make sure your monthly package is included with the line rental. None of the ISP will forget to mention the line rental price, else you may have to loose addition money every month. So make sure each and every package you choose is included with line rental or not. We hope these tips would be useful for all Broadband Internet Users.
